Coffee Con series to return as virtual events

MS-BWR’s popular Coffee Con series will relaunch amid COVID-19 as a virtual event.

This summer’s ‘Coffee Series: Quarantine Addition’ will be a virtual space where MS-BWR continues its tradition of connecting with the community and providing a space for authentic conversations on topics centering Black women in the state of Mississippi.

The series will kick off on Thursday, May 14 at noon with a Mental Health Workshop provided by Dr. Jerrilyn Dixon of Progressive Therapy. Dr. Dixon and her team will discuss ways to support yourself and your family now and the months ahead. Attendees also will receive a virtual handbook with tools to navigate this pandemic.

On May 28, we’ll offer other PRESSing issues, such as talking about OUR HAIR?! (We said we had you covered!) Our May 28th Coffee Con entitled’ Mind, Body, and Hair’ will center on hair care in quarantine 2020. We will hear from hair care experts about how to care for your hair during the quarantine. It will also feature Candace Saulsberry, a yoga instructor who will teach us ways to stay moving and centered during this time.

Stay tuned for our June and July Coffee Con Series Events. For details on participating in the series, visit–May-14—Noon.html?soid=1131316871454&aid=0M8ErRvWCyw&fbclid=IwAR1mMK2wAQ5rAIfOvG4SI3tvcmQUqtR7A9wr7aFhdtNAcdHfUnSPikQkayE
